Start and stop the trip by phone.

Each boat that goes out is linked to its booking. If the boat has a hardware module, your customer starts it with their own phone. So you need fewer people at the dock, and the trip times come in by themselves.

Customers start the boat by phone

When their booking begins, they open the link in their text, pick their boat and tap Start the engine. They end the trip the same way.

Pickup text, with delivery status

The text before pickup carries the link your customer starts the boat with. If it doesn't arrive, you get an alert and resend it to the right number.

The boat records its own times

Nobody has to write down when a boat went out. A connected boat reports its own times, and if it's late, you see it on the planning.

Pause a running rental

On a boat you start remotely, you can pause a running rental and pick it up again later. The pause counts as rental time, so the return time doesn't move.

Hardware per boat

You can put a hardware module on one boat first and start it from the office. Customers start the boat from their phone once every boat of that model at that dock has a hardware module.

Start the engine from the office

Is your customer's phone dead? You start the engine yourself from the fleet view, and off they go. It also works when you need to move a boat.

Sentinel Marine, SMS-Relay and Qondor

Sentinel Marine and Qondor release the engine for the booking. SMS-Relay only starts and stops it, by text message, without GPS.

Questions about electric boat rental software.

What if an electric boat's battery is low before a rental?

Then you hand out another boat of the same model. Customers book a model in Let's Book, and the boat itself is picked at handout, shortly before departure. So one low battery doesn't cost you the booking. You check the charge yourself, because Let's Book doesn't read the battery.

How do I keep time free to charge my electric boats?

You set the charging time between two trips as buffer time, before or after a trip. Nobody can book the boat during it. Want to charge in the middle of the day? A lunch break in your schedule means no new trips start at midday, and boats already out keep going.

How do customers sign the waiver if I'm not at the dock?

They sign online, at home on the couch, before they come to the dock. The waiver runs through WaiverForever on your own account, linked to the booking in Let's Book. It's ready as soon as the booking is confirmed, with their details filled in. You choose who signs: every passenger, or one person per boat. On the booking you see who has signed.

How do I take a security deposit for an electric boat rental?

If you take a security deposit, your customer pays it in Let's Book when they book, or with the balance if you work with a down payment. After the trip you return it from the booking, in full or in part. Each amount you keep back gets its own line. At the end of the day, the wrap-up list shows the finished bookings with something still open, like a deposit to return.

Where do I get the hardware module for my boats?

You get the hardware module from the partner who makes it, on your own account with them. Sentinel Marine has installation partners around the world, and in the Netherlands The Boat Constructors fits Sentinel Marine and Qondor hardware modules for you.

How much does a hardware module cost?

As a guide, a hardware module from Sentinel Marine costs about €600 once, plus about €120 a year. Qondor leases you the hardware module for about €200 a year. You pay that per boat to the partner, separate from your plan. The software for it is in both Standard and Pro.

Can I also rent out my electric boats with a skipper?

Yes, you can sell a skipper as an add-on to a regular rental. You can also sell skippered trips at fixed departure times, on the same planning as your rentals. A departure slot can have its own package price. Selling single seats is coming. You schedule the skippers yourself.

Can I try Let's Book with my own electric boats first?

Yes, ask for a test login and look around in Let's Book on your own. We set it up for you, with your own electric boats already in it. We send it as soon as we can.
