Let's Book works for boat rental, tours, charters and boat clubs, on their own or side by side on the same boats. Customers book and pay on your own site, and we help you move your FareHarbor bookings over for free.

Let's Book

Let's Book is only for businesses with boats and plans by the boat, so rentals, tours, charters and boat clubs share one fleet. 150k+ bookings a year on four continents, by our own count.

Price list

FareHarbor

They publish no pricing page. Their marketing sitemap lists 130 pages, and none is about price. The menu and the footer have no pricing link either.

Let's Book

Standard is $30 or €25 a month plus 2.5% of every booking. Pro is $175 or €150 a month plus 1%. Every feature is in both.

Booking fee

FareHarbor

Their terms say FareHarbor may charge the booker a fee, paid apart from the activity price. They also describe a model where the booker pays one price and you pay a monthly commission. Neither percentage is on their site.

The API

FareHarbor

Their separate API Fee Terms say how the fee is calculated and invoiced. The page gives no percentage.

Built for boats and the dock.

In Let's Book, you pick the boat at handout. On a boat with connected fleet hardware, your customer starts it from their phone. We found nothing about either on FareHarbor's pages, so we can't tell whether they do.

    From 60 min

    before departure, by default

You pick the boat before departure

Customers book a boat model, and you pick the actual boat shortly before they leave. Is a battery flat on Saturday morning? You hand over another one, and the booking stays.

  2. A hand holds a phone with the Let's Book start screen in front of a boat at the dock, green arcs showing the connection

    Customers start the boat themselves

With a hardware module from Sentinel Marine or Qondor, the customer starts the boat from their phone, through the booking link. They end the trip the same way, so nobody waits at the dock with a key.

  3. A family steps off a rented open motorboat onto the pontoon and hands the key back to a smiling dock attendant

You return deposits from the booking

Do you work with a security deposit? Then the customer pays it when they book or with the balance. After the trip you keep back what you need, line by line. With one confirmation, you return every deposit with nothing to settle.

Questions about a FareHarbor alternative.

Including the ones where our answer is no.

How do I move my bookings from FareHarbor?

We help you move them over, for free, and work out how with you. You give us a login to FareHarbor, or send us an Excel file or an export. We set up Let's Book with you too, so you don't have to do it alone. You test everything first, and switch payments to live yourself when you're ready.

What does FareHarbor cost compared to Let's Book?

We can't say what FareHarbor costs, because they publish no price list and no rates. On our pricing page you work out what Let's Book costs for your year of bookings.

Can I sell through GetYourGuide, Viator or Booking.com with Let's Book?

Not yet. We're building a channel manager, so selling through GetYourGuide and Viator is coming soon. Until then, a partner gets their own booking link with their own rate in it. Their bookings arrive tagged, so you see who sold what.

Can I sell single seats on a departure?

Not yet. We're still building per-seat ticket sales into Let's Book. Until then, a booking takes the whole boat, with a group size on it.

Who holds my money?

With Let's Book, you do. Stripe or Mollie take the payment into an account in your name and pay out to your bank. FareHarbor's provider terms describe a split with Stripe. The activity price goes to your Stripe account and the booking fee to FareHarbor's. FareHarbor then starts the payout.

Do you answer the phone at midnight?

No, we don't answer the phone at midnight. Iwan, Berend or Robbe does answer within one business day, and all three have worked a dock. Support and onboarding are free on both plans.

Do you handle a boat club with members and dues?

Let's Book handles the members, but not the dues. You get member types, member rates and booking rules per member type. A rule can count the Saturdays a member has already booked, so nobody books them all. Dues go through your own bank or subscription service.
